individual evaluation

The heart of FEM Sensory Laboratory is the Individual Evaluation Laboratory, built according to UNI EN ISO 8589:2010 guidelines. The laboratory is equipped with 22 individual booths, each provided with sink, computer monitor, keyboard and mouse. Every judge can thus work in perfect autonomy by following the session instruction delivered by the staff on the monitor. Inside each booth, a button allows the judges to draw at any time the staff’s attention by switching on a red light placed in the nearby Sample Preparation Laboratory.

The environment is strictly controlled in order to avoid any alterations in the evaluations: the panelists work silently and every booth has a vacuum system for air turnover to avoid odours stagnation. Additionally, the light conditions can be controlled in every individual booth: light can be warm white, cold white, or red.

Instruction delivery and data collection are managed by a specialised software (FIZZ, Biosystemes) that allows the staff to monitor the panel activity in real time and to promptly process the responses.
